You know the feeling of walking a course for the first time? Unfamiliar terrain greets you as the holes reveal themselves; the eye is exposed to sights to be seen. If the track is right, those images remain engrained long after your round — a memory, time well enjoyed in the moment. Alas, a new Home awaits your return.
We’ve heard countless times of the beautiful challenge + walk that is Pinehurst No. 2 in the Sandhills of North Carolina. Turtleback greens, sandy waste areas, a trip through the pines, all elements amidst this Donald Ross puzzle. However, these were only fables.
The plan: Assemble a crew of golf homies who had yet to stroll No. 2.
The result: Mega smiles, lots of putts rolling off greens, and four bucket-lists with a course crossed off.
